Degrowth Dialogues
Degrowth Cafes
A powerful way to begin challenging growth is to gather together and grapple with difficult questions, contributing our unique individual perspectives and supporting each other in the process. A Degrowth Cafe is a supportive place for folks to share ideas and make progress on what economic downscaling means, and what it looks like. We’ve hosted a series of in-person and virtual Degrowth Cafes, and have more coming up!
Campus Conversations
Participate in multi-disciplinary dialogues that ask students, faculty, and staff to use their backgrounds – both in and out of academia – to challenge their preconceptions of economic growth. Organize and spark a Conversation via panels, symposia, class discussions, or club events.

What is Degrowth?
Degrowth Institute, Chicago, IL
We gathered at DGI, where we started to get into the details of what degrowth is, what it isn’t, and how we get past growth as an economic necessity. We envisioned elements of a smaller economy and asked questions to address at future cafés.
